Today's school systems spend enormous effort finding out who is "good" and who isn't. Very little of the system is built to teach each student from where they actually are.

Put students at different levels in one room without individual attention, and the ones who start behind fall further behind. They lose confidence, and some stop showing up at all.
Personal attention follows money.
Families who can pay get tutors who adapt to their child. Everyone else gets the same one-size lesson. That's a resource gap, and it's decided by income, not by ability.

We're a small team in New York City. We started by helping students prepare for one high-stakes exam, and found that more practice wasn't what helped. Finding the exact mistake and fixing it was.

How are AdaptSage and AdaptSHSAT related?
AdaptSage is the company and the engine. AdaptSHSAT is our first product, built on that engine for the NYC Specialized High Schools Admissions Test. Students and parents can sign up at adaptshsat.com.
Is AdaptSage only for test prep?
No. Test prep is where we started because the stakes are high and results are easy to measure. The engine works for any subject where reasoning can be checked, including other exams, certifications and job skills.
How is this different from online courses?
Open education platforms opened up great courses to anyone, which matters. But each course runs at one level: the teacher goes from start to finish whatever the learner already knows. AdaptSage adjusts to each learner as they go, so nobody is stuck repeating what they know or lost in what they don't.
Why does affordability matter so much to you?
Because the students who most need personal attention are often the ones whose families can't pay for it. An adaptive system can give every student practice at their level for a fraction of what a private tutor costs. AdaptSHSAT starts with a free diagnostic for exactly that reason.
How is this different from other adaptive learning tools?
Most adaptive tools only change how hard the questions are. We also track the specific mistake you keep making and pick questions that target it.
How do you handle student data?
